lyrics

Writing out reports
I’m in a T-shirt and shorts
But I’ve worked, I’ve worked them all
I’ve worked them all now

Hand supporting my hair
Leaning forward in my chair
And I’m first, I’ve firsted them all
But I’ve never gloated
I say hey why must we delay
When I’m ready and loaded?

Well all the martyrs, they came to town
Rupert Brooke and John Brown
Speaking wild, wild tales of
steady explosions.
And it’s a sad state of affairs
Repeat the past but no one cares
Pushing loud, louder failure
Ready and loaded
I say hey where’s my keychain?
It was already corroded.

All the martyrs, they came to town
And they wanted to party down
Because death’s only a state
for the highly devoted
So we grabbed Samuel Morse
And we set him down on a great big horse
And said the secret of life
Must be firmly decoded.
He replied ‘sorry my child,
it was already corroded.’
He replied ‘sorry my child,
It was already corroded.’

I say hey where’s my keychain? No, no. Oh no.
I say hey where’s my cliché? No, no. Oh no.
I say hey where’s my keepsake? No, no.

about

owenshire Ontario

Owenshire was born when Robert Muhlbock bought a bass guitar in 1992 and began recording dozens of bass and vocal demos under that name.

Two albums, numerous "live demos," one too-long hiatus and (most importantly) one bass distortion pedal later, Muhlbock continues to release riff-based alt. rock, scattered with lush harmonies and dotted with cryptic and/or disillusioned lyrics.
