about

This is a live demo. Imagination is needed to appreciate what this song could be at its full potential. A studio version is forthcoming.

lyrics

Let’s start the day’s events

You get a call from someone you don’t want to talk to.
A spring sticks in your side but you still rest.
The mass media means of communication
The tunnel gets darker and more narrow
Very much Machiavellian in thought

Wait your turn
Use all the hot water
She makes my meals for me
The ones I can’t eat, she will throw away.

Every so often a feeling of optimism
Another good or bad shopping trip
You get all of your books at discount prices (you know I will)
But materialism still can’t match naked flesh

I love your brain
It is so big and sautéed
and juicy.
It makes a nice dandelion head.

Clasped hands and words with false breath
Leave the extra food someone will eat the rest
With more effort soon will make a dent
And there’s always a way if you just squint

And we’ll go dancing crazy like free young men
You know I will.

about

owenshire Ontario

Owenshire was born when Robert Muhlbock bought a bass guitar in 1992 and began recording dozens of bass and vocal demos under that name.

Two albums, numerous "live demos," one too-long hiatus and (most importantly) one bass distortion pedal later, Muhlbock continues to release riff-based alt. rock, scattered with lush harmonies and dotted with cryptic and/or disillusioned lyrics.
