A fairly straightforward narrative about a shipwreck, all set to distorted guitars, passionate vocals, and the catchiest riff this side of Coldplay's Clocks. Originally written by Greg around 2004. Recorded proper late 2023. The World Is Flat is from the (to be completed) Melisma album.

Oh, I said "the world is flat!"
And the committee gasped,
And the King, well he rasped
"How do you know?"
"I took the Queen on a chance,
and we had a tap dance off
the edge of it." (That's how)

Then the King had a laugh
Accused me of a madness
An uncommon sadness
To which I was hurled:
"Take a look at this map.
Do you notice the gaps?
Well I say, what's between them?"

That's no man's land
That's where the dragons attack
You oughta know.
That's no man's land, Hey
I hear the dragons are black
And indigo.

What's between them?
Let's keep this just between us

The wind at our backs
We filled up our flasks
And didn't mind all the rats
We were but stargazers
No where is home
Except what can be known
And that's what can be found

We set sail at dawn
We sailed across the pond
And had an uncommon bond
of which all were amazed
Look through the scope
A little mound of hope
And that's what we are!

Just past this no man's land
That's where the dragons attack
